The Covid-2019 situation had an impact on the implementation of the Bios4YOU project milestones, therefore the first multiplier event was organized for Lithuanian teachers on March 19, 2022.
The event started at 9:35 am and lasted until 1:20 pm.
The main purpose of this event was to present the project outputs and to discuss with teachers about the applicability of the project training content during lectures.
Especially great importance was given to such topics as:
- Presentation of the functionality of the educational platform (the functionality and design of the platform was adopted, according to the project needs (IO2));
- Pedagogical requirements for the educational material (these requirements were adopted regarding the projects goals as well, you can find them on the platform (IO3)).
- Bioinspired Unit Presentation for STEM teachers (IO4).
The IO1 results, which disclosed how technology and engineering bring STEM to life and vice versa, were also presented.
Especially the teacher’s great attention turned to the topic ‘Robotics in Biotechnology’ and the demonstration of the bionic hand.
It was hoped that teachers who participated in the project will increase their knowledge of bioinspired technologies and encourage young people to be interested in STEM disciplines. The interest raised at school will have an impact on young generation choices in the future and ensure their motivation to choose programs related to STEM at universities and work careers opportunities related with STEM as well.
