Tallinna Kesklinna Vene Gümnaasium
Tallinna Kesklinna Vene Gümnaasium, established in 1923, is one of the oldest schools in Estonia. The school offers 12 grades of secondary education. It comprises a primary school (for pupils aged 7 to 11), a secondary school (for pupils aged 11 to 15), and a gymnasium (for students aged 16 to 18). Additionally, the school has a pre-school and primary school department.
The school community is diverse, with students from various ethnic backgrounds. It is continuously enhancing its learning environment, resources, and teaching methods to meet the highest educational standards. The school places a strong emphasis on foreign language learning, offering courses in English, German, Spanish, French, Chinese, and Finnish, alongside fostering students’ creativity.
The curriculum includes a variety of activities such as outdoor and remote learning approaches. Both the teaching staff and students actively participate in various European projects. As part of the ELOS network, teachers have the opportunity to teach students in multiple languages.
TKVG employs the STEAM and STEM approaches, which have positively influenced student achievement and teacher effectiveness. The school’s IT specialists have significantly enhanced these efforts by developing and implementing a virtual learning environment based on Google Apps.
The school also offers a wide range of extracurricular activities for all age groups. These include LEGO Robotics, a STEAM Lab, Video Makers Club, Python courses, International Project Management, a dance club, school choir, ceramics lab, and art and craft courses.
